Small Reading and Norman Authors' Fair

The Little Salon of Reading and Norman Authors has established itself since 2015 as a major cultural event in Normandy, highlighting the richness and diversity of Norman literary creation. Each invited author and artist has a strong connection to the region and contributes to its influence, from the local to the international level. As a general literary fair, the event brings together works of fiction and non-fiction, aimed at both adults and young audiences. Meetings, exchanges, and signing sessions occupy a central place, fostering dialogue between authors and their readers. In parallel, other forms of artistic creation, such as painting, sculpture, or photography, enrich the program. On the occasion of the Millennium, medieval arts are highlighted. - On Saturday afternoon, free workshops in calligraphy, illumination, and stained glass creation introduce ancestral crafts revisited in a contemporary spirit to the general public. - In the evening, the glasshouse of the castle hosts a medieval ball accompanied by the sounds of rebecs and other period instruments, along with demonstrations of traditional dances. - Sunday is dedicated to the meeting between readers and writers. Special attention is given to authors exploring the medieval universe, particularly that of William the Conqueror. All guests share a strong attachment to Normandy or its history, making this event a true celebration of Norman heritage and creation.
