In Domfront en Poiraie, a true stone sentinel at the heart of ducal history, the setting is ideally suited for a celebration of literature that brings the Middle Ages to life. The event highlights the builders of narratives—historians, novelists, and illustrators—and invites the public to a lively immersion between knowledge and escapism.

The fair rests on a dual requirement that makes it all the richer. On one hand, historical rigor is embodied by the presence of authors and historians specialized in the Norman 11th century, who come to shed light on the figure of William the Conqueror as well as the social context of his time. On the other hand, the narrative richness is expressed by shining a light on fiction authors—historical novels, fantasy, children's literature—who draw from medieval codes and myths to nourish contemporary imagination.
