Show in one week starting from the words of locals about the legacy of William the Conqueror. In Itinere Collective offers several stops in Normandy.

What happens during a stop?

The collective arrives on Monday and meets as many people as possible: associations, farmers, municipal councils, businesses, schools, police, senior clubs, passersby...

- From Monday to Wednesday, it gathers stories, anecdotes, habits, favorite places, and links to the past. Discussions that sometimes last for hours based on the villagers' interests.

- Then on Thursday and Friday, the collective imagines and rehearses a 1 hour and 15 minute show, created from these narratives.

- On Saturday, this show, inevitably "unique", is presented to the entire town - a family-friendly show - that humorously and poetically traverses the issues, past, and desires of this community! A stop.

Here, In Itinere wishes to question the legacy of William the Conqueror more specifically.

How does this history move us? Does the presence of this figure change (or not) our relationship to the town, its history, and the region? If this legacy influences us today, is it a joy, an honor, a burden? And Matilda? What role do we assign her today? Do we know her story or does she remain in the shadow of William?

Talking about William the Conqueror to discuss his life today: who would be a William the Conqueror today? Who would be Queen Matilda? How is this story transmitted? Borders have certainly changed in a thousand years. What makes a people today? What constitutes "common culture"? How is history written every day? Can we understand and grasp the great story with the little stories?
