Show in one week based on the words of residents about the legacy of William the Conqueror. In Itinere Collectif offers several stops in Normandy.

How does a stop work?

The collective arrives on Monday and meets as many people as possible: associations, farmers, municipal councils, businesses, schools, police, senior clubs, passersby...

- From Monday to Wednesday, they collect stories, anecdotes, habits, favorite places, and connections to the past. Discussions can last for hours depending on the villagers' interests.

- Then on Thursday and Friday, the collective imagines and rehearses a 1h15 show, created from these narratives.

- On Saturday, this "unique" show is presented to the whole town - a family-friendly performance - humorously and poetically addressing the issues, history, and desires of this community! A stop.

Here, In Itinere wants to specifically question the legacy of William the Conqueror.

How does this history move us? Does the presence of this figure change (or not) our relationship with the city, its history, and the region? If this legacy influences us today, is it a joy, an honor, a burden? And Matilda? What role do we assign her today? Do we know her story or does she remain in the shadow of William?

Talking about William the Conqueror to discuss his life today: who would be a William the Conqueror today? Who would be Queen Matilda? How is this history transmitted? The borders have changed significantly in a thousand years. What constitutes a people today? What makes "common culture"? How is history written every day? Can we understand and grasp grand history through small stories?
