The Tales of Twilight
18 September 2027
Norman Legends
With "Tales of Twilight," a trio of artists — two actors and a musician — presents a literary ceremony dedicated to the legends, whether well-known or more obscure, of the Norman heritage. They thus bring to life a whole procession of characters and ghosts who come alive to share their stories.
The legendary tales occupy an essential place in the historical and identity construction of a region, as they are rooted in supposed real facts. Their protagonists are identified, and their geographical and historical inscriptions closely link them to local life. Although transformed and enriched by oral transmission, these stories retain their primary vocation: to be passed down and shared. They thus help forge an emotional connection to the territory.
Emerging from a keen observation of the places they evoke, the legends give meaning to landscapes, whether natural or shaped by humans. They explain, in a rational or symbolic manner, phenomena, landforms, place names, or even the origin of certain sites. If not, they gradually fade away, leaving only names whose meanings are lost.
They also provide valuable keys to understanding a territory, its forms, its light, its atmospheres.
Even today, along the roads and in the heart of cities, legends continue to be born and circulate. Contemporary tales, rumors, and urban legends extend this tradition and are part of a living transmission, destined to last.
Company Turn the Page, with Fabrice Hervé, Bernard Ariu (accordionist), and Jean Charles Le Noël
