Robert de Torp, a Norman adventurer during the time of William the Conqueror

This historical show takes the form of a participatory walk between the church of Villers-Canivet and the chapel. It is presented by the theater company La Lanterne de Falaise, which specializes in this type of creation. The script is written by Mireille Thiesse, a writer, screenwriter, and director.

Through several successive tableaux, the show recounts the preparations for Robert de Torp's departure in the 11th century for the conquest of southern Italy, following in the wake of other Norman knights. He became lord of Rocchetta Sant’Antonio, in the current province of Foggia, and is the founder of a lineage whose fief of Lacédonia remained under Norman domination from 1081 to 1120.
