Concert - Creation

In the context of the European Year of the Normans, the orchestra is leading a project of international scope: a symphonic work for brass and percussion dedicated to the epic of William the Conqueror.

Commissioned from Belgian composer Benoît Chantry, this piece unfolds like an immersive sound fresco. The power of the brass evokes the affirmation of the duke, while the rhythmic precision of the percussion reflects the momentum of the conquest of 1066.

The ensemble proposes a dialogue between medieval imagination and contemporary musical writing, in an accessible and expressive form.
