Presence of the Orléans in Sicily in the 19th century

The association of friends of the Louis Philippe Museum traditionally extends the meeting with a public conference dedicated to a significant figure or aspect of the House of Orléans, in the fields of architecture, painting, or history.

In 2024, Valérie Bajou, curator of the Horace Vernet exhibition at the Palace of Versailles and a recognized specialist in 19th-century French painting, will present the close ties between the painter and the Orléans family, with Louis-Philippe being one of his major patrons.
In 2027, Nicole Garnier, Honorary General Curator of Heritage and Vice-President of the Friends of the Condé Museum, will trace the journey of the Orléans in Sicily, from the birth of three children of Louis-Philippe and Queen Marie-Amélie to the legacy of the Sicilian estates received by Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale.
