Who will you give England to?

In 1066, two contenders dispute the crown of England: William the Conqueror and Harold Godwinson.
This show proposes to reenact this decisive moment in history in the form of a trial that is as serious... as it is unpredictable.

For 40 minutes, the audience becomes lively: arguments clash, testimonies follow one another, and the great figures of the time speak out. Matilda of Flanders, Odo of Bayeux, Edith of Wessex, and Edward the Confessor take turns shedding light on—or complicating—the debate, all in a staging that is rhythmic and full of twists.
The format incorporates the audience at the heart of the action: everyone becomes a juror and participates in the final decision, called to determine the legitimacy of the two rivals.

Straddling the line between historical theater and quirky comedy, Two Kings for the Crown revisits the Anglo-Norman epic with humor, energy, and a touch of absurdity, while highlighting its emblematic characters and power struggles.
