The Vikings as seen by Hollywood, a nod from the city of American cinema to the first Normans.

Released in 1958, The Vikings by Richard Fleischer showcases all the virtuosity of Cinemascope cherished by this great Hollywood director. Featuring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Ernest Borgnine, and Janet Leigh, the film brings together the major figures of adventure cinema of the time.

Erik, son of the queen of Northumbria and the Viking chief Ragnar, grows up among slaves. Without knowing their blood link, he becomes the sworn enemy of Einar, Ragnar's legitimate son. Their rivalry escalates into a violent struggle, soon disrupted by the arrival of Morgane, a captive English princess promised to Einar but in love with Erik.

Passions, revenge, and grand landscapes compose this epic fresco, magnified by the music of the Norwegian composer Martin Romberg, offering an intense rediscovery of this classic adventure film. His work, nourished by mythology, nature, and literature, reinvents the symphonic tradition by infusing it with a unique narrative and cinematic sensitivity.
This creation offers a vibrant rediscovery of the film, where legend and music unite to resurrect the soul of the Viking sagas.
