Weavers of harmony

29 May 2027

Concert of songs from Scandinavia, Great Britain, Ireland, and France

This choir, based in Vernon in Eure, brings together sixteen female singers accompanied by six instrumentalists: harpist, pianist, guitarist-bassist, drummer, clarinetist, and trumpeter.
The repertoire spans from the Middle Ages to the 21st century and features arrangements for women's voices. It is evenly divided between works in French — original or translated — and pieces in English, Gaelic, and Scandinavian languages. One composition is dedicated to the fate of William the Conqueror, on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of his birth in Falaise.

The program traces a life journey, from childhood to adulthood, marked by the quest for identity and the search for one's place in the world. The ensemble creates a dialogue between varied vocal and instrumental universes, whose complementarity creates a rich and expressive harmony.
