Show

The destiny of a young duke in 11th century Normandy.

William, the Dawn of a Conqueror is an immersive historical fresco in sound and light, presented by the Cherbourg company A Fleur de Mots, combining theater, horsemen, monumental projections, reconstructions, and sound effects.

The show traces the young years of William, known as the Bastard, from the last Viking raids to the consolidation of his power, through the internal struggles that were shaking the Norman nobility at that time. Confronted from childhood with rivalries, conspiracies, betrayals, and the ambitions of the great baronies, William will gradually have to assert his authority and build his destiny.

Through a succession of dramatized scenes and historical tableaux, the audience is plunged into the heart of 11th century Normandy and discovers the events that shaped the young duke, long before and until the day he became William the Conqueror.
