Reenactment

The event "The Conspiracy of the Barons" takes place in the historic center of Miglionico to recall one of the most dramatic and defining episodes in the history of Southern Italy: the meeting that occurred in 1485 between the barons of the Kingdom of Naples and King Ferrante of Aragon, in an attempt to establish a truce regarding the political and fiscal choices of the kingdom. The confrontation, initiated by Girolamo Sanseverino, lord of the fief and noble of Norman origin, ended unsuccessfully and earned the castle of Miglionico the name "Malconsiglio."

Among the main initiatives during the four days are itinerant theatrical performances, the historical narration of the Conspiracy, medieval games, thematic DJ sets, the theatrical banquet, the knights' tournament, parades of drummers, dance and falconry shows, culminating in a double Grand Historical Parade.

Each day, the village comes alive with the opening of ancient taverns, historic markets, and an animal fair, creating an atmosphere that reflects the vibrancy and tension of the era. The historic center, with its squares and alleys, becomes a widespread stage where moments of spectacle, participation, and storytelling coexist.

The grand finale of the last day, featuring the second historical parade and the theatrical representation of the "Conspiracy of the Barons," concludes the event by celebrating the history of Miglionico through a reenactment that combines dramaturgy, music, food and wine, and collective memory.
