Eisteddfod Guernsey Festival 2027

from 18 February 2027

to 07 March 2027

Eisteddfod Guernsey Festival 2027 – Year of the Normans

For over a century, the Guernsey Eisteddfod has been at the heart of the island’s cultural life, bringing together creativity, talent, and community spirit. Each year, more than 2,000 participants of all ages take part, making it one of the most vibrant and inclusive arts festivals in the region.

Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, the Eisteddfod offers a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone, from first-time performers to experienced artists. Across music, drama, visual arts, writing, and craft, it provides a unique opportunity to take part, develop skills, and share creativity.

In 2027, the festival will feature a special Year of the Normans subsection, celebrating Guernsey’s deep historical ties with Normandy and the Norman world. This theme will run throughout the programme, inspiring a wide range of creative responses, from performances exploring the drama of the Battle of Hastings to photography capturing Norman influences in the island’s architecture. It will also be reflected in floral art inspired by medieval styles and heraldry, as well as in the Guernesiais section with dedicated classes and a special song.

By bringing together history and artistic expression, the 2027 edition invites participants to rediscover Guernsey’s Norman heritage in fresh and imaginative ways, reinterpreting the past through creativity and innovation.
