Agricultural & Horticultural Show

Taking place in August 2027 in the heart of Guernsey’s countryside, the West Show stands as one of the island’s most cherished events. Over two days, it celebrates agriculture, horticulture, community spirit, and island heritage.

Organised by the West United Agricultural & Horticultural Society, representing the parishes of St Pierre du Bois, St Saviour, and Torteval, the event brings together generations of islanders for a vibrant mix of entertainment, competition, and culture.

In 2027, the West Show will be taking on the Norman theme, honouring the deep-rooted connections between Guernsey and Normandy.  Visitors will be able to see a range of competitive classes, open to parish residents, schoolchildren and islanders, including : 
- Arts and crafts
- Baking and culinary creations
- Floral arrangements
- Displays of locally grown fruit and vegetables
Selected categories will feature a Norman theme to celebrate this shared heritage.

Livestock competitions will showcase the best of Guernsey's farming traditions, whilst the much-loved Bean Jar competition celebrates one of our most iconic local dishes - a hearty recipe believed to come from Norman origins.

As the sun sets, the Show comes alive with evening entertainment.  Local music acts take to the stage in the lively beer tent, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind with friends and family.  Our caterers will be serving a tempting selection of hot food throughout the event ensuring that no one goes home hungry.  

With over 103 annual editions, the West Show is a key moment in the cultural calendar, reflecting the identity and traditions of Guernsey’s western parishes. With its blend of tradition, creativity, and entertainment, the 2027 show promises to be one of the most memorable yet.
