from 23 April 2027
to 02 May 2027
Celebrating great writing and big ideas on the beautiful island of Guernsey
The Guernsey Literary Festival is an annual celebration of books, ideas and creativity, bringing together writers, thinkers and audiences from Guernsey and beyond. Each year, the Festival presents a vibrant programme of talks, workshops and events for all ages, spanning fiction, non-fiction, poetry, history, current affairs and more.
As part of Millenium 2027 – the European Year of the Normans, the festival will place a particular emphasis on Norman heritage. A selection of events and activities within the programme will explore this theme, connecting literature with the island’s history and cultural identity, and contributing to the wider international celebrations taking place throughout the year.
Alongside its main programme, the Festival maintains a strong and ongoing commitment to community outreach, working with the library, schools and local organisations to make reading and storytelling accessible to as many people as possible.
Set against the unique backdrop of the island, the Guernsey Literary Festival offers a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors and locals alike, celebrating both international authors and voices from closer to home.
