Guernsey Short Story Anthology 2027

A professionally published annual collection of short stories, showcasing original work by writers with a Guernsey connection.

The Guernsey Short Story Anthology is a professionally published annual collection of short stories, curated around a different theme each year by the Guernsey Literary Festival.

The 2027 edition, titled “Small Treasures”, explores the idea that value is not always material.

A lost object, a fleeting moment, a quiet act of kindness, a discovery that changes everything – treasures are not always made of gold. The treasure might be literal or metaphorical, joyful or bittersweet, found or lost. What matters is the story behind it.

In a year that reflects on Guernsey’s Norman heritage, some writers may choose to explore the small traces history leaves behind – in traditions, places or belongings that endure.

This competition is open to short fiction and creative nonfiction from writers with a connection to the Bailiwick. It aims to celebrate the island’s creative voices, offer development support and connect literature with local identity.
