Le Viaër Marchi 2027 - A celebration of Guernsey's heritage with a special focus for Year of the Normans

On Monday 5 July 2027, the much-loved Le Viaër Marchi returns as a lively and atmospheric evening celebrating local food, crafts, and island life, with a special focus on the 2027 Year of the Normans.

Visitors can enjoy performances by Lihou, a group of accomplished musicians largely based in Normandy and led by Yvon Davy of Association La Loure. Known for their historically informed interpretations, the ensemble brings to life the rich musical traditions of the English Channel coast through evocative melodies, storytelling, and song.

The event also showcases the flavours of Normandy and the Channel Islands, with cider, apple juice, and a selection of Norman-inspired dishes to enjoy.

As Saumarez Park comes alive, visitors can wander between stalls brimming with artisan produce, handmade goods and irresistible treats. With its friendly, relaxed atmosphere and plenty to discover, Le Viaër Marchi is the perfect way to enjoy a summer evening with family and friends.

Whether you come to browse, sample, chat or simply soak up the ambience, this traditional gathering is a joyful celebration of Guernsey’s creativity, community and heritage.

Known as the event that truly heralds the start of the island’s summer, Lé Viaër Marchi is indeed a very fine reason to celebrate.
