Exhibition

The Cybèle association promotes a program of artist residencies and creations between Normandy and Sicily, in collaboration with the Frac Normandie. The project facilitates the mobility of artists between the two regions, the production of new works, and their dissemination through exhibitions organized in Sicily and Normandy.

Artists explore the shared historical and cultural heritage through themes such as memory, transmission, migrations, cultural mestizaje, and ecological challenges. Particular attention is given to artisanal knowledge — textiles, weaving, embroidery, ceramics, and land work — as well as foundational narratives, especially those related to the Bayeux Tapestry and the Sicilian Tristan Quilts.

The project’s outcomes will take place starting in the spring of 2027 in Ragusa and in various locations in Normandy, accompanied by a trilingual catalog. The project creates a lasting artistic dialogue between Normandy and Sicily, bringing forth new narratives, new collaborations, and shared cultural territories.
