Immersive banquet at the Viking city

“At the table of the Vikings” offers an original dive into the connections between Normans and Vikings. It takes the form of an immersive banquet organized at the Viking immersive City of Rouen, blending gastronomy, history, transmission, and sensory experience.

This banquet brings the Viking heritage of Normandy back to life through a culinary and cultural approach accessible to the general public, while highlighting the pedagogical and creative work of the students of the Fauchon School.

Located on the banks of the Seine, in the heart of Rouen, the Viking immersive City provides an especially suitable setting for this event. Its scenographed pathway of about 1000 m² plunges visitors into a spectacular experience that closely relates to Viking history and imagination. Within this complex, the dream room constitutes a privileged space to host an immersive and sensory experience.

In the projection room, participants experience a complete immersion where gastronomy meets visual storytelling. Throughout the meal, they discover dishes designed in resonance with Viking history, while various emblematic atmospheres of the Viking immersive City unfold: northern lights, snowy Scandinavian forest, cliffs of Étretat, drakkar, battle scene, Nornes, and ceremonial tree.
Each projection transforms the space and evolves the atmosphere, placing the diners in varied visual and emotional universes, extended by a menu conceived as an extension of the narrative. The combination of images, sounds, and flavors thus creates a unique and memorable experience.

This immersive banquet is part of an educational project conducted within the framework of the Bachelor of Gastronomy Management (2nd year) led by the students of the Fauchon School, accompanied by their trainers.
