The words of Bernfrieda

The event includes the adaptation and dramatized reading of excerpts from the historical novel by Gabriella Brooke, The Words of Bernfrieda: A Chronicle of the Altavilla. The work is set in Norman Calabria and intertwines narrative and history through characters largely documented by contemporary sources, such as Fredesenda, mother of Robert the Guiscard. Through the language of storytelling and stage representation, the initiative aims to engage a broad audience with the events of the Normans, highlighting the connections between their land of origin and Calabria.
