Le Radar in Bayeux launches a print commission inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry
Le Radar contemporary art space in Bayeux is launching a call for applications for a commission of silkscreen prints entitled "Lettres – Trames – Images", supported by the Centre national des arts plastiques and the French Ministry of Culture. This project is part of the "Artothèques en Ruralités" call for projects, for which Le Radar was selected as a laureate in 2025.
The project invites artists or collectives from the visual arts, graphic arts and comics fields to propose contemporary reinterpretations of the Bayeux Tapestry, in the spirit of the tapestry created by Hélène Delprat in Aubusson for the Normandy Region.
The works will take the form of silkscreen prints in 70 × 100 cm format and will enrich the collections of Le Radar's art lending library. They will be available for borrowing by individuals, for thematic exhibitions, and for wider distribution in France, the United Kingdom and Jersey from 2027.
This commission is directly part of the Millenium initiative.
